FAQ

General Information

How cold is it in the rink?
Dress warmly!!  The average temperature inside the rink is a chilly 35-50 degrees depending on the season.  Once you start skating, you will warm up.

What should we wear?
Most skaters wear long pants and a sweater or jacket.  You may want to wear a hat and scarf.  We recommend gloves.  Smaller children may want to wear a bicycle helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads for added protection.

What type of skate should I rent? Hockey?? Figure Skate??
Figure skates are better for beginner skaters since the toe pick helps you walk on the ice before you learn to glide. This is an added benefit for little ones.. we want to build their confidence before we build their abilities.

What's the difference between a figure skate and a hockey skate?
A figure skate has a longer blade and has a sharp pick at the front by your toes.  The hockey skate has a shorter blade and does not have a toe pick.
