The Bridge
program is designed to introduce intermediate
level skaters to the next step in their skating
careers. Our goal is to “bridge” the gap between
skate school and figure skating.
Our program does not take the place of skate
school or private lessons, but provides an
avenue to hone skills in a structured
environment.
Skaters who have
achieved Basic 5 and above are invited to
participate. This program supplements skate
school and private lessons and we encourage you
to continue with your current form of
instruction as well in order to ensure the
skater’s success.
Our 45 minute
on-ice classes will encompass many area of
figure skating, including: power, stroking,
artistry, dance, moves in the field and
freestyle.
The off-ice class
is designed to introduce skaters to the basic
premise of cross training. Here, the skaters
will learn exercises and techniques that will
strengthen their bodies and enhance their on ice
performance. Off-ice classes include:
jump, conditioning, stretch, ballet, and yoga.
Once again, our
goal is to learn the art of application of
elements taught in skate school and private
lessons. The bridge program is designed to
incorporate fun and learning, all while
appreciating the sport of figure skating.
