at the Garner Ice House!!

The Garner Ice House has a number of fun filled skating packages for
all ages and skill levels. All programs are taught by highly
skilled and qualified instructors in a safe and secure
setting.
Our Skating School
offers classes for all ages and abilities - from pre-schoolers
to adults, beginners to advanced skaters. Classes begin with the
fundamentals and progress to more advanced and specialized skills,
including both figure skating and ice hockey.
Below
are the listed times for each levels lesson.
Please be aware that even though the lesson is 30 minutes,
an additional 30 minutes is provided for individuals to
practice what they have learned. If you have any questions,

We participate in the
U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program.
The curriculum is well-designed, and the objectives
are a perfect match with our own goals.

Snowplow Sam 1 - 3 ages 3-5
Introduces
preliminary skills to pre-school skaters. Learn dips,
swizzles, wiggles, and stops. Snowplow Sam is designed to
help acclimate young skaters to the ice by using different
activities that make learning fun. As skaters advance,
the elements gradually become more difficult.
Lesson time: Mondays 5:45-6:15p or
Saturday 12:15p-12:45p |

Basic Skills Levels 1 - 8 |
Basic
1 - 8
Basic Skills 1 & 2 ages 6-16
These levels are designed to help beginners
learn different skating elements. Elements will
gradually become more difficult as skaters advance through
each level. Includes forward and backward skating,
swizzles and stopping.
Lesson time: Mondays 5:45p-6:15p or
Saturday 12:15p-12:45p
For Home school levels, please see below.
Basic Skills 3-8 ages 6-16
These levels are designed for intermediate level
skaters. The skater must have passed the elements in
Basic
Skills 1-2 in order to pass Basic 3. Elements include
forward and backwards crossovers, edges, spirals
spins, and variations in stopping.
Lesson time: Mondays 6:15-6:45p or
Saturday 12:45p-1:15p

Free Skate Levels 1 - 6 |
Free
Skate 1 - 6
These levels are designed for more advance skaters.
Skaters must have passed Basic 8 to be eligible for this
class. The elements in each level increases in
difficulty.
Lesson time: Mondays 6:15p-6:45p or
Saturday 12:45p- 1:15p |

Adult Levels 1 - 4 |
Adult
1 - 4
Promotes
overall fitness, improves balance and coordination while
mastering the basics of ice skating. These classes are
designed for the skaters to learn at his/her own pace.
Elements covered: forward and backward skating,
crossovers, and stopping.
Lesson time: Mondays 6:15p-6:45p or
Saturday 12:15p- 12:45p

Hockey Levels 1 - 4 |
Hockey 1 - 4 AKA "Rink-Rats" ages 3 - 5
This class is designed to teach the basics of hockey to
those that have never played the game. By taking this
class, the skater will be prepared for future hockey
programs such as Youth Learn To Play Hockey 1 & 2.
Before signing up the skater should know how to skate
forward.
Lesson time: Saturdays 12:45-1:15p
Equipment required: Helmet (a simple bicycle helmet is
fine), knee pads, elbow pads, and a stick (which can be provided if needed). |

ATTENTION ALL HOMESCHOOLERS!

We also have a
Homeschool Skate Academy
that operates on Tuesdays!
$90 for 8 Weeks.

Price: $90.00 for 8 weeks.
This cost covers
* 8, 30 minute lessons
* 8, 1 hour practice ice time.
* Free Skating in the public session [following
lessons] on Tuesday's
from 2:30p - 4:15p.

* Free Skate Rental
* A FREE 10 punch pass card to skate in Cary or
Garner. [you can use for anyone]
Some people use it
on Tuesdays for family members or friends.
