Notice to all Symphony and Colors of the Season show participants: All three of the Symphony numbers (Toy Soldiers, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and the Les Brown Nutcracker group) will also be performing at the Colors of the Season show on Sunday, December 17th.

Skaters who enrolled in the Symphony show only must let Nicole Stalker know if they would also like to perform in the Colors show on Sunday.  Please confirm with Nicole Stalker by Sunday, December 10th.  Nicole can be reached at 209-3484 or via email at Stalkfest@aol.com

Dear Holiday Show Participants:

Please find below an updated Holiday Shows Rehearsal Schedule.  Added rehearsals are noted in
Red - previously scheduled rehearsals appear in Black.

We understand that these added rehearsals have been included after the original schedule was released, however, we are hoping that you can incorporate them into your planner and make every effort to attend these additional opportunities.  We will be forgiving if you just cannot make it, but we are counting on great attendance to help ensure quality shows.  The rink has graciously provided these extra practice opportunities and we want to make the best use of them.

We will ask that you please continue to use the web as a reference for the most up-to-date rehearsal and show information.  Go to Icehouserinks.com and click on the Greensboro facility and you will find pertinent details.

Dear Show Participants: (Memo 11/7/06)

While I have not yet decided which number to use for the Opening and Closing of the Colors of the Season show, those two are the performances requiring the following:

One of them - Black pants, black turtleneck or black turtleneck sweater
The other - white sweatshirt or white sweater - no hoodies

Here is a site to obtain black pants if you don't have a pair that have been approved (V-Waist Straight Leg Jazz Pant - Dance 4 Less ). Alternatively, I would encourage you to see Lisa Newman to take a look at the black pants she has found locally for Melissa.  They work well and can be used as a guide to help you locate pants that are similar.  Target has also had a stock of black Danskin pants that will work fine, but I've heard that supplies are limited and sizing is picked over.  Don't forget to check the new Target on New Garden Road.  Please see Nicole ASAP to obtain approval if you already have a pair of black pants.  If you don't already have a pair that has been approved, please act ASAP to ensure you have this important costume detail!

I understand that Target also has a ribbed black turtleneck and several parents have mentioned that Old Navy and JcPenney carry black turtlenecks.

The Opening and Closing performances also each have an accessory - a nominal cost will be passed along to members for these costume embellishments.  These accessories will be provided to you and cost information will be available shortly.  I can't imagine that they will cost more than $5 each, but a specific price for each is forthcoming.  The accessory fee will be imposed but the accessories will be returned at the conclusion of the show and will become property of the Club.

Here is costume information regarding the Symphony group performances:

March of the Soldiers
Soldiers wear the black pants that are also being used for the Colors show Opening or Closing.  Soldiers also wear red jackets that they have already been fitted for.  We could use a parent volunteer to tidy up these jackets, affix buttons that have loosened and hand remove any stains.  Soldiers may wear a black turtleneck under the red jackets.  Soldiers will also be wearing red dots on their cheeks.  Ballerinas will be wearing a pink leotard, a pink tutu and white tights.  We are awaiting samples of the pink leotard and tutu to use for a sizing guide - we are hoping they will arrive by the end of the week.
We are looking for a parent volunteer to measure and determine sizes for the ballerinas.  Participants in this number will be assessed a costume fee, but the red jackets, pink leotards and pink tutu's will be returned and become property of the Club.  Specific price information is forthcoming, but once again the cost will be what I would call very affordable.  A traditional bun will be worn by all participants.  A parent volunteer who has mastered doing a bun using the hairagomi (spelling???) is needed!  The hairagomi is something we would like to see you use, but it will not be required.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen Group
This group will also be wearing the black pants that will be used for the Opening or Closing number of the Colors show.  Additionally, these skaters will be wearing a Christmas green top and belt.  We are awaiting samples of the green top in both children and adult sizes to use as a sizing guide - we are hoping they will arrive by the end of the week.  Specific price information for the top and belt is forthcoming.
We are looking for a parent volunteer to measure and determine sizes for this group.  At this time, we are thinking the girls will wear their hair with the sides pulled up.  We are also thinking it would be ideal for the hair to be curled.  These details will be finalized and passed along to you.  Lastly, this group will be using a handheld candle as a prop for this performance.  You will be assessed a fee for the prop, but the prop will be returned and belong to the Club after the shows.

Les Brown (Nutcracker Medley) Group:
This group will be wearing a red skating dress of their choice provided it coordinates with the specific red that Lance has chosen.  Savannah Mackie's red dress is the prototype for coloring.  If you do not have a red dress, be sure to look at Savannah's dress that is hanging in the coaches room.  A link to a site is being provided for those who need a red dress (Ice skating dresses by Mondor. Need a skating dress? We have them in stock.) I'm not sure what they have in stock, available to ship, but please check them out if you need a dress!  You are also welcome to choose a red dress from a different manufacturer, but it must compliment and/or coordinate the specific red Lance has chosen - again, see Savannah Mackie's dress hanging in the coaches room.  This group will also wear over the boot tights.
Please do not delay in ordering a red dress and/or obtaining over the boot tights if you don't already have these items.

Thank you!
